Digital Exhibition "Marchands de sable: رقاد الدراري" by the artist Souki Belghiti.
The video installation "Marchands de sable: رقاد الدراري" intertwines intimate memories of the beach in Casablanca with old Moroccan lullabies. The evocation of the beach inevitably arouses a profound nostalgia, as if it were more than just a place but a state of lost carefreeness. The old Moroccan lullabies contribute to conveying this bittersweet feeling of consolation and mixed loss. Their use, along with vernacular languages of the region (Darja, Tamazight), helps to bridge contemporary art with popular culture. The challenge is to use digital technology to create a sensory experience in which each viewer can find something of themselves and revive their deep connection to these fragments of memory that underpin our resilience.
